What Does The New Right to Work Law In Indiana Mean to Local 2209 Members? Right to Work Legislation for The State of Indiana passed through the House in January 2012, the Senate passed it on 2/1/2012. It was signed into law by Governor Mitch Daniels the same day it passed the Senate. Here is the information all UAW 2209 members need to know.
"Right to work as a law in Indiana goes into effect
immediately, but affects only contracts entered into
or renewed from 2/1/2012 forward. The UAW/GM
National Agreement was· completed in September
2011 and is in effect through September 2015."
Unit II - UAW Nurses and our Unit III Caravan/Knight members are also under the same rule. That rule is in effect until the expiration of their current contracts.
Per Article 16 Section 2 of our UAW Constitution it states:
"all dues are payable during the current month to the
Financial Secretary of the Local Union. Minimum
Union dues shall be a sum equivalent to
two (2) hours straight time pay per month.”
If you have any further questions contact UAW Local 2209 for more information. 260-672-2209 |
