2012 Indiana State Democratic Convention, June 15-16 Is to be held right here in the 3rd Congressional District at the Grand Wayne Center in Fort Wayne. The dates are Friday June 15 and Saturday 6/16. This is the first time ever in our history it has been held outside of Indianapolis. We are encouraging all our interested UAW members to run as a delegate for this convention. To become a delegate you must file with your county election board, and be placed on the May primary ballot. The filing period is from January 11, through February 10, 2012. As always we have blank forms at the UAW 2209 hall, and we can help you through all the details. Yes you can do it.
Indiana Democratic Party Convention Events relating to the Convention will be held June 14 - June 16, 2012, with the main business meeting occurring on Saturday, June 16. Over 3,200 people from around the State of Indiana are anticipated at this groundbreaking event, which will be held outside of the City of Indianapolis for the very first time. Fun events are being planned on Thursday and Friday. There will be training events on Friday. The District Caucuses will occur on Saturday; State Convention Delegates will elect National Convention Delegates at the District Caucuses. Special caucuses including Labor, Young Democrats, African-American Caucus, Latino Caucus, Stonewall Caucus, and more will also meet on Saturday.
The main session will occur on Saturday and will feature Congressmen and Congressional Candidates, Future Governor John Gregg, and Future Senator Joe Donnelly. Many other special guests have been invited to be a part of this event...and you can be a part of this event too. Become a delegate to the 2012 Indiana Democratic Party Convention. It is easy!
